People being unable to tell aimbots apart from aim is a much bigger problem than actual hacking right now, as the auto-banning can affect people they’re grouped with. A friend of mine recently got so many reports for hacking (his aim is amazing for his rank, but his positioning is uh… “what the f is he doing now”) that he got auto-banned until blizzard decided to review it and unban him. Low-rank players somehow find it extremely hard to tell high-level players’ aim from aimbots. It’s just that the vast majority of the people being accused of aimbotting (more than 90% of them in my experience) in this game aren’t actually aimbotting and just smurfing. People aren’t being offended by it though. How many ways people are willing to be offended by cheaters being called out.
